The Step-Up program is designed to encourage teacher-student collaboration in the development of life-long learning opportunities through the integration of technology. Buddy Step-Up students will work directly with teachers to improve the technology skills of both student and teacher, as well as increase the level of technology integration into the curriculum. The focus, as always, is technology as a tool.
All students, including those in special education classes, will be given the opportunity to participate in the project. Approximately sixteen to twenty students will participate in the project. Interested students will complete an application form which will include their intent to participate for at least one school year, and a signature of their parent acknowledging their knowledge of and support for their child's participation. Information about the project will be made available to students and parents at registration. Announcements will also be made each day for one week during regular daily announcements once school begins.
