1. Introduction activities and background information. Explore tools, resources, technology, and methods. Discuss parts of an investigation and qualities of a good question using the scientific method.

2. Brainstorm concepts and core knowledge related to the driving question using Inspiration (mind mapping) on the Internet.

3. Assign groups according to possible interests in question or assigns groups and then allow them to come up with a possible question of interest. Once in the groups, the students will decide on roles for the individuals in the group (leader, recorder, data analyst, etc.).

4. Groups narrow down, edit, and refine the actual question that they will be investigating.

5. Students will design a plan for their investigation including hypothesis, research plan, data collection, analysis of data, and presentation of data.

6. Students will carry out plan for investigation.

7. Students will share their presentations with others. (classmates, parents, other classes, community members, etc.)
