THE ZIONSVILLE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD
April 14, 2004
The Zionsville Board of Park and Recreation met Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. All Board members were present. Roger Burrus, Board Counsel and Al Smith, Park Superintendent were also present.
Art Small moved to approve the March minutes. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
Superintendent’s Report
Al Smith reported that the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce has asked for permission to use Lincoln Park for the Lincoln Park Concert Series. The series would be held Wednesday evenings, 7:30 p.m.-8:40 p.m. beginning June 9, 2004 and ending on July 28, 2004. He also reported that the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce has requested $200 from the Department to support one concert.
Jeff Glass moved to allow use of Lincoln Park as outlined. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
Art Small moved to support one Lincoln Park concert in the amount of $200. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
OLD BUSINESS
Saylor Drain
George Tikijian reported that Roger Burrus and himself have attended two County Drainage Board meetings. Drainage issues associated with Saylor Drain have been discussed at each meeting. An engineering firm hired by the Drainage Board has submitted a report concerning the drainage issues. Town officials will be given a copy of the report for review.
Bond Request
George Tikijian reported that Dick Crane, Town Council President requested that the Department prioritize elements of the proposed projects and their associated costs. He also reported that Al Smith has prepared a priority schedule. There was discussion on the presented priority schedule and several changes were made. The consensus of the Board was to present the amended priority schedule to Dick Crane.
Linda Oxenrider moved the Board approve the claims submitted. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
