THE ZIONSVILLE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD
August 13, 2003
The Zionsville Board of Park and Recreation met Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. All Board members were present. Roger Burrus, Board Counsel and Al Smith, Park Superintendent were also present.
Art Small moved to approve the July minutes. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
Superintendent’s Report
Al Smith reported that the Bradley Property has been bush hogged at the cost of $750.
OLD BUSINESS
Zion Nature Sanctuary
Al Smith reported the bridge is nearly complete and that most of the grading has been completed. Wet weather continues to delay the project.
Tim East moved that Al Smith be authorized to arrange a time extension for the completion of the project. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
Bradley Property
There was discussion on the submitted proposals from Anorlas, CEA, Cornerstone, and Ratio.
Linda Oxenrider moved to accept the proposal for the creation of a conceptual plan from Ratio Architects. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
Marianne Doyle, Zionsville Historical Society, submitted a preliminary homestead maintenance and restoration plan. The Board will study the plan and discuss options at the September Board meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
Roger Burrus asked for the Board’s position on the possibility of purchasing the Jones property without the drive. The consensus of the Board was that the drive would be desirable but not essential, since access could be gained from Elm Street Green.

Jeff Glass moved the Board approve the claims submitted. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
The next Park Board meeting will be September 10, 2003.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
