THE ZIONSVILLE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD
December 10, 2003
The Zionsville Board of Park and Recreation met Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. All Board members were present. Roger Burrus, Board Counsel and Al Smith, Park Superintendent were also present.
Art Small moved to approve the November minutes. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
Dick Crane, Town Council President was present. He thanked the Board for their efforts over the past year. George Tikijian thanked Dick Crane and the entire Town Council for their foresight in acquiring 38 acres of land for use as a new park.
Superintendent’s Report
Al Smith reported the following: Christmas trees will be collected at the Starkey Park parking lot area until January 12, 2004 and that the pathway from the Rail Trail to Pleasant View Elementary has been completed. He also thanked the Street Department for the transfer of a tractor and mowing attachment valued at $10,000 - $15,000 to the Parks Department.
OLD BUSINESS
American Legion Trail Crossing
Jonathan Carr, Inside and Out Design reported that several components of the construction documents are at or near completion. He anticipates having the construction document package completed on or before December 31, 2003.
New Park Property
John Jackson, Ratio Architects presented final conceptual plans. There was discussion on the plans. Ratio Architects Design Meeting Minutes are attached.
Jeff Glass moved to approve the submitted conceptual plans. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
Linda Oxenrider moved the Board approve the claims submitted. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
The next Park Board meeting will be January 14, 2004.
