The Zionsville Board of Park and Recreation met Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. All Board members were present. Roger Burrus, Board Counsel and Al Smith, Park Superintendent were also present.
Art Small moved to approve the April minutes. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
Superintendent’s Report
Al Smith reported that he along with HNTB are working with Pulte on the pathway connections from Cobblestone Lakes to the Rail Trail.
OLD BUSINESS
American Legion Trail Crossing
Al Smith reported that three proposals have been submitted for the arch and flagpole with lighting and that two more proposals are expected. Al Smith recommended that the selection of a contractor be delayed until the June meeting. The consensus of the Board was to make a selection at the June meeting.
Impact Fees
George Tikijian reported that an impact fee study committee has been appointed.
NEW BUSINESS
Turkey Foot Nature Park
George Tikijian reported that an adjacent property owner to the park has cut a path though the woods from the gravel drive to Eagle Creek. The consensus of the Board was that Roger Burrus contact the property owner concerning the clearing of the path on park property.
Art Small moved the Board approve the claims submitted. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
The next Park Board meeting will be June 8, 2005.
