THE ZIONSVILLE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD

November 12, 2003

The Zionsville Board of Park and Recreation met Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. Board members George Tikijian, Jeff Glass, Art Small, and Tim East were present. Roger Burrus, Board Counsel and Al Smith, Park Superintendent were also present.

Art Small moved to approve the October regular meeting minutes and the 10/29/03 Special meeting minutes. Seconded and passage was unanimous.

Superintendent’s Report

Al Smith reported that nature hikes for approximately 200 third grade students were conducted at Starkey Park.

OLD BUSINESS

2003 Squealing Pig

Budd Glassberg reported that the 10-mile race was a great success. He also reported that the race raised $900 for the Department.

Zion Nature Sanctuary

George Tikijian reported that the dedication of the park on 10/16/03 went well. He also thanked Tim East and Jeff Glass for organizing the event.

American Legion Trail Crossing

Wayne Warren reported that the survey has been completed and that a progress meeting is scheduled for 11/13/03 at 1:15 p.m. at the office of Inside and Out.

New Park Property

John Jackson, Ratio Architects presented refined conceptual plans of concept #3. The final conceptual plan will be presented for approval at the December meeting. Ratio Architects Design Meeting Minutes are attached.

Art Small moved the Board approve the claims submitted. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
