THE ZIONSVILLE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD
November 10, 2004
The Zionsville Board of Park and Recreation met Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. All Board members were present. Roger Burrus, Board Counsel and Al Smith, Park Superintendent were also present.
Art Small moved to approve the October minutes. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
Superintendent’s Report
Al Smith reported that the following three proposals were received for the demolition of Jones Meat Market: North American Construction Co., Inc. - $12,700; R&N Site Recycling, Inc. - $14,000; and Casey-Bertram Construction, Inc. - $15,000.
Jeff Glass moved to accept the lowest proposal in the amount of $12,700 from North American Construction Co., Inc. for the demolition of Jones Meat Market. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
2004 President’s Annual Report
George Tikijian presented his 2004 President’s Annual Report. He reported that he would be presenting the report at the December 6, 2004 Town Council meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
2004 Squealing Pig 10-Mile Race and Trail Markers
Budd Glassberg reported that the proceeds from 2004 Squealing Pig 10-Mile race were $800. Budd Glassberg also asked that the Recreation Committee be allowed to identify the Cross Country courses with trail markers that would include mileage/kilometers and directional arrows.
Tim East moved to authorize the use of $1,000 from the Non-Reverting Operating Fund for the installation of trail markers to identify the Cross Country courses as described. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
Mulberry Fields
Roger Burrus reported that the Maplelawn Farmstead Preservation Committee is preparing a lease agreement draft.

Zionsville/Eagle Land Resources Committee
George Tikijian read A Resolution Establishing a Joint Land Resources Committee Between the Zionsville Park and Recreation Board and Eagle Township Park and Recreation Board.
Art Small moved to adopt A Resolution Establishing a Joint Land Resources Committee Between the Zionsville Park and Recreation Board and Eagle Township Park and Recreation Board. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
Elm Street Green
Art Small moved that the recently purchased 3.5-acre parcel of land adjacent to Elm Street Green be designated as part of Elm Street Green. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
Art Small moved the Board approve the claims submitted. Seconded and passage was unanimous.
The next Park Board meeting will be December 8, 2004.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
